Interesting facts & trivia from the Philippines culture & events community

Trivia Question

Answer: Flipping the flag upside-down. Unique to the Philippines, the flag can be used to indicate that the country is at war by inverting it, with the red field on top and the blue at the bottom. No other country’s flag in the world has this usage.

Interesting Culture Fact!

The story of the Sidapa (god of death) and Bulan (one of the moon gods) is one of the most popular indigenous myths, with the latter even being referred to as the patron god of homosexuality. Lakapati, goddess of fertility and good harvest, is often described as androgynous or transgender. Bathala, head of the pantheon and creator of the world, is also considered as intersex as the name literally means “man and woman in one.”
