 SPOTLIGHT

Each week we will feature an interesting leader of the Filipino events community - from producers to choreographers to venue operators to performers & more. There are so many amazing personalities and creators and we are excited to share these stories!

Name: Shareilyn Batalon

Role: Events Executive at a Hotel Chain in BGC

Describe your role: I am in charge of selling the function rooms at the hotel. My daily activities include responding to client inquiries via email or telephone, sending proposals, confirming events and sending contracts, sharing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with my team at the hotel, and ultimately meeting with the client during the event. We oversee events from start to finish, including processing payments and sending thank-you emails.

Favorite part of your job: Meeting the clients, spearheading their events and seeing the success of their events.

Best event you ever went to and why?
The very first event that I handled for a well-known bank worldwide, and it was a big one. I was involved from start to finish and found it to be a valuable learning experience. The client was pleased with the outcome, and even referred me to some of her colleagues.

Any upcoming events you're excited for and why?
Our upcoming event for a global biopharma company. With the tight competition here in BGC, we are very pleased that our clients have chosen us for what we can offer. Clients have remarked that we are very fast in replying and sending quotations, which is key to winning over the clients.

What's a valuable tip you have for fellow events community leaders/organizers?
Be there always. Be organize. Do the extra mile. Make your work, your passion.

Name a favorite movie or song you're liking recently.
Raining in Manila, Seven, Super Shy, and April Shower
